:welcome: Don't know if you have plans yet, but check out smokerplans.net. You can find a set for a great smoker. I'll let Rod Crafter chime in, he's got pics of a rack he built into his firebox for grilling.

Welcome to the crew. There are so many ways you can get this stuff done, that only your imagination will hold you back.

Sometimes we recommend that a new person to the site look around for a while. I say that because you will see a lot of cookers that are possible. Then try to decide on how much you would like to cook at a given time. Then even the idea of a grill vs a smoker big differences. It is better to spend some time deciding before building so you will get what you really want when you are done.

And yes you can make the FB a grill too, if you want I can show you what I did on the last one.

This is the Fb with a basket and divider in it. I top load it, then the clean out is on the right side.

If I'm going to just grill I take the basket out and add this cooking grate.

If you build it like RC, you just have to be careful so your basket doesn't burn out. It's built outta pretty thin material.

Thanks guys, and i have been wanting to do this for years i usally do a pig roast every year for the past 8 plus years and have always used a rotisserie spit. But as of late have been smoking pork butts and turkeys with a friend that had built a round rf smoker and i have always used the fuel oil tanks for cooking my pigs and i have come across a few free tanks i know they are big but like they say go big or go home
