I'm about 90% finished. Real job got in the way. Hopefully in the next month or so.
It's been a fun build!

how hard is it to build a backyard clone, from the plans ,smokerplans.net
are they pretty well detailed?? does it tell you want materials to get??
I want to purchased these plans for my 1st build,
MY 1st project!
what u think?? can i do it??

The plans are very good plans but it doesn't give a cut sheet of material needed but Frank can help get you one if you ask nicely!

this is my next smoker build. thank you very much for the details and pictures. one thing though, does it have a single wall diffuser plate between the firebox and cook chamber or is there a dual wall there also.

this type of smoker was orginally the reason I wanted to build for my first one. It is still on the back burner while I finish up my patio build. but this will be my next build. Thanks for the pics. Cant wait to see her all finished up..


I'm the only one with a vizion... everyone else wears biphocals...

Looks great.. I love this style. Super job.

I wonder how these posts pop up so readily. I've read pages and pages and pages of stuff to learn what I can and I still don't find these....great thread, great work.

Does anyone know if the short wall in the back is really needed? I know it is there to bring heat and smoke from the firebox but wouldnt the spaces on the sides be enough? I am in the planning stages of one of these and would like to simplify things a little and save some cost and weight.
