I am starting to seriously consider building and selling some smokers but I am kinda worried about getting hut with a patent infringement if I do. Does anyone know what patents are out there for smoker designs? Backwoods says they are "Using a patented double wall construction" but haven't been able to find anything in a Google patent search.
The one that I built for myself is based on backwoods design but I have spent quite a few hours on sketchup making up a lot of new designs. I am mainly looking at making reverse flow cabinets but I may venture into offsets too.

Patents are only as good as the paper they are written on. if your design is unique enough you have nothing to worry about. truthfully, most companies say patent pending but never complete the process.
