Mini Smoker Build

Post by CrazyD » April 8th, 2014, 8:16 pm

Since i had the idea for a mini smoker, and then seeing two on this site i decided to go and start mine.

If ya'll want this thread somewhere else move it please, best place i could find to start it from my phone on tapatalk so it may be wrong.

Anywho, building this thing mosty out of scrap from my recent pit trailer build. I run the numbers through the calculator to get it as close to spec as i could.

6"x12" CC
5" square FB
1.5" throat
Traditional style (not RF)

Also will build a trailer under it.

More to come ........

Should be big enough for a couple burgers. Hope it gets up to temp enough haha.

I went 5" and it gave me a 110% on the calculator. I always try and go a little bigger. Even on this little guy haha

I just used plates I had cut for another project, otherwise might have gone bigger or smaller :)

OMG! That CC handle looks really stout! Nice work! :D

I also recommend you enlarge your draft, throat, and stack all you can within good artistic taste. I found an extra 100F doing that when I "tuned" it after the first test burn. I'm not sure the pit calc was ever designed to work down this small with great accuracy….. :-B

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D
Current smokers: Egor (trailered RF) and Easybake (tabletop pellet drive)

Yea none of its going anywhere thats for sure haha.

Yeah its all gonna be a bit bigger then calc says. I figured that would help get heat up higher. I need to find a small short stemed thermo for the door now.

Gonna be a cute little devil. :LG:

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
