Keep up the good work. Oh and you can use this one while you build the next one. SO DON"T SELL IT UNTIL THEN! :rulz:

So I got the cc door on with some basic hinges. I started with something more fancy but it didn't work well. Then I got the hinges on. Everything worked well until I welded it solid. Now for some strange reason every thing is all bound up. What a PITA!!!

There are a few different reasons why that stuff happens. But don't let it bother you, try the types of hinges you see others using and be careful to line them up with each other and you will have success.

Now it works fine without doing anything! My guess is that there was a lot if heat in the solid round stock part of the hinge.

So my list is all but complete. A grate for the fb and a latch. Thermometer and some paint. Also I bought some hi temp Rtv to try to seal the door. Has anyone ever used that?

I've used high temp RTV to glue my gasket to my door and it works fine. :LG:

I don't have a gasket so I was thinking of just using the rtv.

I have heard of making a gasket from rtv using wax paper but I have never tried it. They say it works as long as there is only a small gap that you're trying to seal up.

Final touches before paint. Not to proud of the spring handles homemade. Next time I'm buying them.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

I wanted to do a test burn before I painted. Charcoal to start and three splits of oak. Two two hours at 250 degrees. Im pretty happy with it. Unfortunately this is sold.

Sounds like it's gonna cook just fine. For somebody.
I bet the next one is even better!

That's not the pipe you are thinking of. This build used new stuff. I'm about to start on the ugly crappy pipe.

Well it's all delivered and I actually feel a bit sad. But it went to a very good home and now I will start mine.
