Just wanted to say what an awesome time I had this weekend at the Smoke Builder gathering. It was really great to sit around and shoot the breeze with some great people. Dave, Rick, Mike, Mike, Bill, Bob, Uncle Bob, Jamie, Joe, thanks for welcoming me to the group, and not making me feel like the new guy. I am super new to smoking and I really felt like I got a lot of great tips and tricks that will really help my learning curve. Oh yeah, those hogs were amazing too! Bob sure knows his way around smoking a whole hog. Uncle Mike's class was great too. And a special thanks goes out to Frank. You can't ask for a more stand up guy. Thanks for all you and the rest of your team did to put this whole thing together. For me, it was simply AWESOME. I cant wait to come back in August for the fish & wild game stuff. Until then, Take care and God Bless.

The gathering was a big success. I really feel bad for those of you who didn't attend. The hog prep class given by Bob Denton from Boar's Night Out was unbelievable. Bob is part of one of the most successful whole hog competition teams. Uncle Bob's rub class offered something for everyone and I know several of us will be working with him to perfect our rubs.

I think I could try cooking a whole hog now that Bob showed us how … but my wife and I need to start that diet we've been talking about! …. so I'll prolly wait a bit first …..

The other Bob taught us a lot about building recipes so I know I'll be keeping in touch with him too.
