Volume of pot

Post by argolee504 » July 9th, 2014, 8:49 am

Does anyone know how to figure the volume in gallons of a pit made from the end of a 37 inch diameter propane tank. If it's cut at the weld line.
Any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure I understand. What are the dimensions of the object your are trying to calculate? Handymath.com may offer a calculator you need.

If you cut the end off of a propane tank at the weld that was 37 inches in diameter how many gallons would it hold

26,452 cubic inches
divided by 250 cubic inches to a gallon would be 105.8 gallons :D

That should be close if it is a spherical end bell. Best way is to fill it up with 5 gallon buckets and count them :strongbad:

The only thing I see on the net at 37" diameter is a 500 gallon tank, 119" long???

Gizmo, I had to check cause I always used 230 cubic inches/gallon. It's actually 231 by google reckoning.
