Door hinge question

Post by rockcrawler74 » July 21st, 2014, 9:59 pm

DSCN3825 - Copy.JPG
Getting ready to mount the doors on my smoker. Doors are approximately 24" wide X 1 1/2" thick. Fire box door is 15" tall and the cooking chamber door is 33" tall, the door material is all 16 gauge so they are kinda heavy.

Should i use piano hinges or the weld on bullet style hinge? If I go with the piano hinge how big of pin should I buy?

Thanks

I would go with the bullet style hinges and you shouldn't have to worry about hinges ever again. jm2cw

Big T has you going in the right direction. Have been discussing some mods to the smoker design I am currently building and the bullet hinges have been suggest several times of the conventional type of cabinet hinge. They are working very well on my tank smoker
