Need some design help!

Post by J.R.'s Butt Hutt » August 4th, 2014, 11:25 am

Would yall look at the drawings on this previous post and answer some questions for me?

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3537

1. Do you think I will have to insulate between the firebox and the warming cabinet?
2. Would you put an opening between the firebox and warming cabinet to control the heat and smoke?
3. If you don't install an opening between the FB and the WC, will intakes be needed at the bottom of the WC doors and exhaust vents on the top to regulate the temps inside the WC?
4. If an opening is installed, I would assume I would have to install stacks for the warming cabinet which would then make my warming cabinet a smoker. how would you get rid of any grease and drippings in the cabinet?

1) Not if you vent the WC
2) Not unless you want to cook in there too.
3) Yes (see number 1)
4) A grease pan under the grate would work well - see old Edna thread or Eli build on this forum for a couple designs to do this.

And I missed it! ~x(

Sorry, back to business!

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
