I saw that purple GF in the back on Instagram. I loved it there but the color here is even more intense. And, your trailer paint is terrific. Did you mix any hardener in with the paint?

I mixed in some with the paint and reducer and it increased the gloss significantly on a set of motorcycle handle bars and springer front end. They say if you use too much it makes it more susceptible to chipping? None yet but.... This looks great.

I can't wait to see the smoker mounted with it. Real talent man!

Thanks puff! The gravity feed is powder coated. The trailer is paint. With the PPG value pro enamel you don't need hardener. I did mix reducer in tho.

Thanks guys! Here's some more progress!
Working on the door latch for the CC doors. Here's how I do it.....

This is 1/2" round bar heated and bent in a 90. I like my handle 3" cleat of the door and needed 2"stocking through for the hardware and a 7" grep so I added 2"for wiggle room and total length is 14" weld a easier inside and out to keep it in place.
Take 1-1/2"x1/4" strap and cut a 4" long chunk. drill a 1/2" ID hole in the dead center and 2- 3/8" holes on each end them place on end of rod. Don't weld yet.

Take 2 ransom chunks of angle and drill a 3/8 hole and a 1/2 hole in them
Bolt them loosely to the strap. I use a washer on each side of the angle and 2 nuts like so for jamming tight

Using a tape measure assist the strap to look like this which is the closed position and measure to the top of your door. This is the length to start with for cutting your striker rods

Cut a bevel on each one for the striker end
Insert the rods in the angles for a test fit. Tack weld in place

Now get the handle in the correct position for the closed position. Verify the bolts and swing arm are clearing the door itself on the inside so it swings free

Then tack weld in place

Make brackets that stand off the inner door planet the correct distance then cut an oval shape slot for the striker rods to run through

In between episodes, I had written up 6-7 questions of what this was... Thank goodness the next page cleared it all up.... Very nice system. If I had the nerve to try this...this would be great on my oil tank smoker doors.
