Gravity Feed...primed and corners trimmed

Post by Puff » October 26th, 2014, 4:10 pm

Well it is primed, sanded and ready for paint but too windy today and my garage and the barn just can't take the overspray this month. So it will be an outdoor job. The door is being painted by a motorcycle painter friend and that just isn't happening until mid December, I am going to paint the entire box and then hand him the door at that time.

The corners are not what I'd wanted but without a way to present great looking corners, this will work for the first one. The aluminum should polish up well. After the first few cooks I'm sure they'll turn bad but then, it's over anyway.

Is there any other way to create the corners on the skinned smokers without using a brake?

:LG:
Those corners look fine to me. They won't effect the food any.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Those aluminum corners look fine but I understand how it is when you don't achieve your vision of the finished product.

Thanks guys, the paint will add to the cosmetics and when the door is painted...THAT will improve the look ..Smokeone is right, the food should be no different :-) this reminds me of a steamer trunk

I still gotta find out how to make these corners !

Thank you, I've been trying to test it for the last 2 weeks. Time has gotten diverted to older parents. My dad is 97 mom 84. Taking care of things with their house, doctors, and other needs. By the time I would like to fire up the cabinet...it is too late. Had a big pile of logs to split , that took two weekends ...and having known that some of my firewood is too fat to use in the smoker, I'd split it into smaller pieces specifically for the cooker.

I did decide to go with the blower and controller as I've never seen one in action and I think it could be another decent learning experience or even still, an expensive mistake.

It gets fired up this Friday, painted this weekend. I'm taking the Friday just for testing, recording, measuring, and who knows, maybe a test rack o' ribs.
Heck, it's lit anyway!

How is the aluminum trim fastened to the corners? Rivets? screws?
