cross over the border and pick one up. How far is it? We used to go to Canada all the time for fresh rolls, Cuban cigars and a 5 quart fill up of gas.( imperial gallon)
Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life
Ya can't ship it up here. I found the rustoleum satin at home depot here in ontario but its 1000 degree where the American one is 1200. On their site it's advertised as a 946 litre spray can but Iits actually a quart can (thanks rodcrafter). I was gonna wait until the end of march when i head down to south carolina to pick up some stuff but wanna the smoker painted before that. Hopefully the paint will hold up. Plus the way the dollar has been lately it not very enticing. Thanks fo all the suggestions.
Regardless, my firebox turns purpleish if I really really crank it up and at this point, I scrape it down every few cooks if needed and hit it with the spray can stuff.
The qt can says do not re coat. I did in one spot and that peeled a little. Now that it will be a yr old, I mat reshoot the whole thing or if I get lazy....spray can touch ups!

I did a reverse flow and cleaned the fb then used oil on it. After the first time, then every 4 or 5 cooks I would wipe it down again. Kept it looking black. I wouldn't wanna leave it for months with out use. The oil can get rancid.
ive been throwing around the idea of capping the top and sides of the firebox with thin gauge stainless. the fb door is removeable so I can remove it whenever it gets ratty and paint it up. still going to paint it and then decide on if the stainless will work.
Top is end of a wrecked milk truck, base is an old milk bulk tank and grill surface is a conveyor belt from a pizza factory, lid handle is handicap grab bar, all stainless steel.
