I have no clue what the lifting capacity is, it is made from 4x4 preasure treated lumber the top beam is a 4x6 and the wheels are rated at about 600 lb each. I think it was all less than 100 bucks to build, which maybe a lot for only needing to use it for less than an hour of work. The pipe for my main cook chamber weighs in at about 430 lbs. I don't know If would feel comfortable lifting more than about 600 lbs with it but it may handle more.. I knew I would need some way of getting the pipe out of the truck and supporting it while I welded I to the trailer and this is what I came up with. I made it wide enough to back my truck under neath. I wish it was a little bit taller, but I wanted to be able to push it in and pout of the garage if I needed too. It would be good to have around for other stuff but it takes a lot of space in the garage. I'll likey take it apart, now that I'm done with it or maybe make it into a swing set for my son.Puff wrote:Nice work...a rolling gantry? What do you think the lift capacity might be regarding weight? Can you get to lift your entire smoker when it completed?
