New guy from Richmond Va

Post by zapped » June 12th, 2015, 9:11 pm

Hi all!

Found this forum on a Google search and decided to join.

I recently bought a Super Cooker 275 gallon smoker/grill from a local military auction.

It was in pretty rough shape with the bottom almost completely rusted out and the grilling area warped and twisted.

My father, my son and I have all been working on this for a few weeks now and Im excited to show you the final results soon.

These were used at Fort AP Hill for the national Boy Scout Jamboree.

Not sure exactly what to call this style of grill/smoker.

Is there a term for it?

I would have to see more of the inside to help with what kind it is. It looks like a big grill from the pics.

Yes I would call it a grill too. But like a weber you can smoke on it if cooking indirect. You sure have your work cut out for you.

When I saw the size I was thinking the oval oil tank style.

Keep us in the loop, hope we can help.

Thanks guys!

New pics are coming in the next couple of days. We are 95 percent done with the fabricating and welding. Most of the grill has been primered with high heat primer as well
