Thanks Pete. I re-ran the numbers with having the right side flat and I get ~84300 cu in CC using your square door calculator. The square section I have at 20" tall.Pete Mazz wrote:I'm getting ~90,000 cu in CC using my Square Door Tank Volume Calculator and guessing some of your numbers. You've got a 300 gal tank which is ~70,000 cu in by itself. See my sig for the calc.
Rodcraft that had crossed my mind last night about cutting the one bell off completely. I think it only makes sense to do that as it seems goofy just to leave that portion of it. i can make a fire pit out of the bell. I'm really leaning on insulation the FB too.Rodcrafter wrote: That is my 2 cents worth.
I would think about one thing though. If you are going to ever be filling the whole thing with meat and such you may want to build a warmer box over the FB while you're at this point. I say that because you can get rid of the one end bell for sure, and move the stack(now). Then if you choose to take the other end bell off it would be hard to tell it was ever a tank at all.
