Using all new metal and not having to mess with a propane tank is really nice. I feel like it actually has saved me time and saved me from the nasty smell you have to burn out. I'm kinda thinking about not using tanks again.
I was planning on buying this gasket to seal to cook chamber and warming box. Its the 3/4 x 1/8 self stick gasket. I don't think it will hold up on the firebox. Is this what you guys would get to seal it up?
I'm not familiar with the flat gasket but someone will be along soon that is. Just looking at the pictures again of your cooker, I have to say the legs at the FB end are at the balance point. When you get finished with this build it will become unstable. Plan on moving the legs further back under the FB end.
Better now than then.
Making memories.
Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........
Made some pretty good progress this weekend. I'm gonna have to go into Rambo mode this upcoming weekend because the next cook for the church is July 11th. I should be able to get it done...
Got the smoker ready to paint just need to finish cooking grates and fire basket. I used Frank's design for the cook chamber latch. It took a while but it is really cool. Thanks Frank for going into such good detail on your mack build.
I'll get it painted tomorrow and seasoned before Saturday for the cook.
