MP4, did you buy them plans on that trailer? I bought plans that looks similar to your trailer from smokerplans. I am getting ready to start the build and gathered most of the parts needed except for the axel, suspension (leaf springs) and wheels. Did you build the axel or buy it and where did you buy the materials for the suspension? I am trying to debate about building the axel then need to get the suspension parts to buy to mount up with the axel. I have found parts to build round or square axels, but trying to find the suspension parts first to see how it would mount up to the suspension. Thanks
I designed the trailer - it's the first trailer I've ever built so there was a fair amount of head scratching. I ordered the axle from a local supplier that had it custom built for me. The axle and associated stuff cost $165.
That is a good price, cause it is going to cost me rite around a $100 to buy the pieces to build the axel myself, then I still have to buy leaf springs and the mounting brackets also which I think is going to be more than $65 and hope I get all the right pieces to mount it correctly.
If anything the stack is a fuzz on the large side. I wasn't sure if I should count the 45 on the top or not...so I didn't count it and also didn't figure stack volume until it was at the top of the cc. I hope it works...I sure like the way it looks.
That's what I used too - I wasn't 100% sure it would hold a 100 lb hog without sagging though so I put a center brace in for good measure. Too much is ok, right?
Next question...I bought an iGrill remote temp monitor. What is the best way to route the cords from the cc to the monitor? I really don't want to route them through the cc door gasket. Is the there a standard size hole and some sort of plug that most folks use?

I would make a port to the side of your door. If you make it in the door each time you open or close the door you could pull the probes or have a tangled mess.
I'm thinking of going with a 1/2 plug between my doors. Not actually in the doors.
