My two pipe overlap is 4.61" and point to point length of 12.50" my bp segment height of 3.75" do I transition a short piece of my bp from the two pipe overlap of 4.61 to my bp height of 3.75" of about one inch then continue the 3.75" to my pb gap.

Where did the BP height come from? Usually the BP is installed at the top of the throat opening, in your case 4.6". Using a 19" tank, the midpoint is 9.5" and that'll leave you almost 5" from the BP to your bottom rack. Seems OK.

The 3.75"segment height came from the calculator for cylindrical tank with throat area of 42.19". And the 4.61"tank to tank overlap is from the calculator from overlapping two cylindrical tanks. Which pb height do I use

Im pretty sure even w/ using a cylinder for a FB you would still use the top of the throat height in the CC as your benchmark for your BP. So you won't choke down the air flow.
I'm not clearly picturing your dimensions. If I'm understanding you right your BP height is 3.75". Which is BP to bottom of CC? If so it sounds to low... But the "overlap" of the tanks is throwing me off. I'm not clear on what the overlap is. I haven't ran your pit calc numbers.

I ran your numbers thru all the calcs.

CC = 13,969
FB = 19.25 D x 17" long = 106%
Throat = 40 sq in
Throat cut-out = 4.7" h x 12.6" w

The only time I see 3.75" cut-out Ht is the Throat calc for cylindrical tanks but that calc is for using a squared FB, not another cylinder such as your case.

If I'm following you correctly, your BP Ht should be at the top of your throat opening at 4.7" from the bottom of your tank. If your bottom rack is at the midpoint of your CC (19.25" D) at 9.5" H then you'll wind up with approx. 4.8" between them, which is plenty.

Thanks for your help Pete, I did run the calculator for a square firebox and came up with the 3.75" sagment height this is were it came from. Then I ran the calculator for the two tank overlap an got the 4.61". I just didn't' know which height to use. Thanks for helping me out. I will use the two tank overlap 4.61" for my bp height. I have already welded my pipes together.

On my round firebox 19.25" dia x 17" long I need 14.84 inches(2) of air intake. would you put a butterfly damper in the firebox door towards the bottom, Or slide intakes on the firebox door, or cut inlets on each side of the firebox. what would work the best. Intake area(in2) 14.84 in2, Dose this mean I need two air inlets this size? for example 2in wide x 7 in long = 14 sq in.
Thanks

It only means square inches. I like having them on two sides the best. It helps because of wind and even burns. But I have only one in the door on one of my current cookers. It works too.

I have a question about my BP Gap. I know the BP Gap needs to be 75%-100% of my throat area. I am starting to install my BP and need to get it right. My throat area is 40.0 sq inches and 75% of 40 is 30 sq inches. My BP is 16 7/8 or 17" wide. So if 17 x 1.75= 29.75 which is 75% of my throat area, the measurement of my BP gap will be 1 3/4 inches, from the end of my BP to the flat end of my cooker, length x width. Is this how you get this BP gap.
