Water tray

Post by Dsbatten » December 22nd, 2015, 2:44 pm

I need ideas on how to make a gravity self feed water/liquid for the tray. I have a 150 gallon RF and on the FB side I have a 3/4" threaded hole. The tray can be any size from 10"-20" wide and up to 60" long and 3-4" deep.

Question: have you had any issues with temp control? Few on here use a water pan in a RF. But it's each to their own.

Check out some of the maple syrup evaporators. They use an external float box to maintain sap levels in the pans, it might work for you. www.mapletrader.com and http://www.sugarbush.info are both good places to look.

I don't use a water pan anymore but if you are going to keep a pan full you should try to keep it full with boiling water so you don't create a heat sink.

Making memories.
