Mini Build

Post by Hootus6d » December 27th, 2015, 6:02 pm

I wanted to post my Mini Clone build. I'm not a great welder and only have a 110 welder. This is a complex smoker that requires a lot of welding. I did it over a couple of months. The cost is still half of what I would have paid to buy one. I had a Rebel 32 I sold this spring because it was just to big. This little mini smokes great and works like a champ. I did have a buddy help me weld part of the project and gave him some money for helping. The firebox and skin I wanted done right. Below is a break down of cost.

Plans 79.00
Parts 175.95 Bullet hinges, nomex insulation for doors, temp gauge and latches.
Slam Latch 95.94
Tubing 69.01
Wheels 80.00
RHT 80 110.25
Ball Valves 98.62
Steel 708.77 all but tubing. Cut to size.
Misc Parts 20.00
Welding 500.00 Tip to my buddy for helping.

Total $1945.62 or less Welding $1495.62.

Very nice work! I don't know for sure but is the drip control piece on the inside of the main door upside down?

Making memories.

Looks like a very well built rig...I question the paint choice though, it would lead one to think you might be a Vikings fan.

Nice work ....I love the color, reminds me of Frank's LSU model. RC, that is some eye for detail. I had to zoom in pretty close to see that drip panel. I like the push cart type handle you added . . . I'm copying that one!
