The reason I ask is I was looking at stumps smokers and his junior model has the circles like I was talking about on his transfer tube. And a couple of the guys in here have said that the temperature ranges from front to back a bit. So I was wondering if this would fix that issue.
I understand these gravity feds have proven themselves, that is the only reason I ask to see if it would make it better.
There is two things I would like to change on mine.
One is a deflector deverting the drippings from the smoke stack to the back. I currently put a dish on the top rack to catch this but that cuts down on cooking space.
Second is making the grease deflector on the door fit a bit tighter to the door opening. I have grease running on to the bottom door seal.
I have the plans and I'm currently treasure hunting for material so I am by no means an expert, as far as the transfer tube I would be more inclined to follow the prints and if your not satisfied with the heat disapation try clamping flat bars on both vertical legs of the transfer tube with experimental hole patterns to see what happens.
