Removing and reinstalling the front shelf with one person turned out pretty easy so I shot a little video.

Very cool - I may have to incorporate something along those lines too.

I got them on eBay. Pretty sure with what I've seen you build you could probably make them. Here's the link.

Practice makes perfect. So get some burns in there and you'll do fine.

Still have to tack it all up but all the expanded metal is cut.

I knew that would make it look like a finished smoker. Don't rush these last details, I think that's what makes them really nice.

Definitely will be taking my time on these finishing touches. Only expanded metal I got welded today was the front shelf but just having the grating sitting in the frames is a night and day difference.

I don't remember you mentioning what kind of anti-gravity device you're using to raise and lower those doors?

Haha. Yea. The doors are huge, tall and probably dangerous. The smoker is going on a competition trailer I'm also working on. Well, will be working on again once the smokers finished. I'm going to have removable "door chains" hanging from the ceiling of the smoker deck that will hold them open at a comfortable height. May go with spring loaded handles sometime down the road.

Expanded metal is tacked and ready for action. Since I am now out of material again I went ahead and mocked up the BBQ Guru on the rotisserie side. Didn't have a lot of options for placing the pit probe so I hope this placement works. I have grommets for all the pit and meat probes but those won't be going in until it's been painted. I've seen a new true wireless meat probe setup that I plan on using for the rotisserie side once they hit stores and I've seen some reviews. Shelf side will just be the Guru probe and an iGrill 2 setup.

I'm really interested to see how you set up the FB(s) on this rig. Keep up the good work!

I have two sets of two refractory bricks for each firebox that will hold up the stainless steel grating 4-1/2" above the bottom of the firebox. Once I get the grates in and bricks situated I'll post some pics. Still have to get the stuff for the baffles on the shelf side but both are ready for the grates now. Oh and I still have to get the ash clean out doors for the back too. So close yet so far away. Haha
