Im pushing thru. Were hoping to season the main and do a cook to test everything. I took the locking mechanism from an old wood stove and lengthened the arms to fit my fb. After this is in were danger close lol.
So more progress has been made. Put a piece of expanded steel in the cc to keep food from falling down between tank and bp. Handles are on both racks counter balance has been installed hatchet stops are on back of tank double axe handle installed on cc door. Tel tru glo in dark gauges installed with "eyebrows". Pic to follow lol.
Would agree....you guys with all the heavy tools make us backyarders work really hard to keep up. (And are an inspiration to buy more tools to try to keep up!)
Very cool work on your rig. I see that your counter weight doesn't have a cap on it. I don't know what you are going to do but, what we have done and recommend is taking some round stock or rebar cut it a few inches smaller than the length of the pipe being used as the CW. Add as many pieces as needed to get the amount of weight you need to offset the weight of your door. Then weld the ends of the rods and add a cap to the pipe to finish it off
Making memories.
