Smoke Stack Location

Post by Yona2016 » May 17th, 2016, 2:32 pm

I'm doing a double pan gravity smoker build and the plans call for the stack to be on top. The new stump smokers have positioned the stack on the side w/ reason given is to help alleviate the dripping from the the stack. Anyone have any feedback on this before I cut hole in either of the panels? Pros/cons?

I put mine on top, I haven't smoked enough to know if it's an issue or not. I did use it in 37*F weather with no dripping issues at all.

Typical GF won't have the problem because the stack is short

I went ahead and moved mine to the side just so I won't have to worry about it.
