Firebox door handle

Post by Enasnidx » June 6th, 2016, 4:57 pm

What are you guys fabbing for the door handle on your fireboxes? I'm pretty novice at this stuff, but I've seen the "Z" shaped rod, how are you securing that in the door so it rotates and locks the door shut?

Any other methods work well?

I've done the old cam lock more than any other.

There's an inside and outside pic. I make an washer out of 1/4" plate for each side and clamp the rod through them tight to the shell of the cooker. This holds everything in place.

Making memories.
