Exhaust Stack Length w/ Vertical CC

Post by cyberstrategist » June 20th, 2016, 8:37 am

I read that I can use the height of the vertical cook chamber to act as part of the exhaust pipe length. Is this a one-for-one or is there a ratio that i can use to determine the size of the stack?

I'm going to add a vertical chamber, a small one albeit, to a horizontal New Braunfels. This changes the dynamic of the flow for sure. So I'm trying to figure out what the calculation is for the stack(s) on top of the vertical chamber.

I know, I know, you're asking, "Why do this to a New Braunfels?" It's because I enjoy doing it!! And, that I can :)

I'm no expert on this type of set up but I would think that 1 to 1 would be all that you need with a short stub out the top just to have a way to shut it down.

The vertical chamber volume basically becomes part of the stack volume so beyond that you don't need much.
