Welcome to the site Harleyman. I am not good with numbers this late in the evening, one of the veterans will be along soon to help confirm and assist with the math.
The design will work fine. You can use the pit calculator on the main page to get all of the correct dimensions for the FB, CC, Throat, stack length, etc. Once you get everything like you want it you can post the specs and some of the guys can double check it for you. If you aren't going to have a WC over the FB I would move the stack to the end of the CC to avoid any drippings getting to the grate. jm2cw
Big T has a good recommendation about the stack.
I haven't run the numbers on the calculator but the design is great. I wouldn't insulate the CC since you're building a stick burner this size. The heat coming off the CC will allow you to keep a nice small clean burning fire. The insulated FB will be well worth it.

i have thought about doing a wc but not sure whether i should or not. im working on a slight redisgn after looking at "MACK". i originally had planed for a water pan but im not sure if i should add one or not is their any pros to having a water pan. im just trying to plan everything so i will not have to go back and do any rework once i get to building.
Most off us put our baffle platter in flat which allows for a nice hot surface to vaporize the dripping juices and provides the humidity to fill the cook chamber. It is also advised to put a 1-2 inch lip on the end which provides a built in "water pan" if you so desire. Add a down pipe and ball valve and it is easy to dragon both drippings and the water.
My experience is you don't need to add more moisture (and my ambient humidity is in the 15-20 %) but the flexibility is nice. Also makes clean up pretty easy.
I don't use a water pan any more. It became clear that it wasn't doing anything but allowing rust in my CC. Since meat is a muscle it contracts when heat is introduced so no moisture really gets in it. A spritzer will keep the bark from getting too dry if you want.

thanks for all the info. i hope to get started on this soon when funds become available just working on making my plans for it now so i can get a idea on what materials im gonna need. after looking at the way "MACK" is built i have changed my original plan and am not gonna use 2 in square tube for all the frame work like i originally planed and just gonna use 1/4" plate.
Just a last minute effort....I have seen a lot of work and projects to fix failed smokers. Please consider purchasing a set of plans so that the project comes out as planned. The money is worth it.....I promise.
