Whats cooking?

Good Afternoon all, I'm Iceman and I just signed up for this site. Not exactly sure what all i'm supposed to divulge so here are the basics.... i'm a short 31yr old white married male who loves food.... is that enough? if not here we go then. My name is Josh, I am 31, I've been working retail for just over 11yrs now ( Home Depot ). I have always had a love for all things smoked and bbq'd, I guess I get it from my pops. I am happily married ( after all its only been 3yrs now) live in Cocoa, Fl.. I have never really had hands on from start to finish solo smoking, however I just built my very first UDS with the guidance of my dad so we shall see how I do. I hope to learn a lot from the people here and also hope to meet a lot of great friends as well. thanks for having me!!!

Ok, so I will let you guys know right out the gate, don't hold it against Josh but he is my youngest son. He's going to be going with me to the gathering so some of you guys less Squiggle will have a chance to meet him. He is a much better person than me, but I'm sure being around you guys that will change. Just kidding.

I'm tickled that he's getting involved in our hobby. He now can make his own Q.

You will need to show them your smoker, they will tell you "no Pictures never happened" if you don't it is sorta the rules

Welcome to the crew! That's one sweet looking unit you got there &, if your dad has anything to do with it, it will be made from inch thick pipe, be able to smoke the stuff itself & get you a beer at the same time.........well, at the very least there will be a few modifications soon enough anyway. Hahaha.

I'm pretty jealous of you being interested in smoking like RC, I need to keep working on my 7yr old, he loves welding & grinding but the cooking is boring cause it takes too long(attention span of a rabbit with an itchy butt that one).

I love the idea of cooking but can be hesitant on trying new recipes due to fear of messing something up. Unfortunately no 1/2" pipe was harmed during the making of this smoker [emoji16]

Squiggle,

It only has 1 different thing in it and that is a unique heat deflecting plate. It is made out of a 22" disc cut with scalloped edges and holes in it. The thing works great.
