Come on Squigle put a who series of shelf rails that way you can select the correct height for whatever you are cooking. You'll only regret it later if you don't.
And yes we can think of more innovative ways to increase the built time and spend... :D

That's gonna be a real nice cooker. I agree with the extra rails for cook options. Looks like u could have at least 3 racks in there with no prob.

That is shaping up to be a mighty fine looking cooker Squiggle.

Is the top of the FB insulated?
If not, you could invest more time and money to build a warming cabinet. =))

Yer gonna like what we've been smokin'.

Nah, the top isn't insulated. I had thought about a WC but I left it so I can use the top of the box to heat beans or a curry in a big pot. :kewl:

Nice looking shelves Squiggle... although I don't see any "spare" runners to increase the range of space between shelves... Come on Squiggle you know deep down you really want to add more runners... don't hold back now, just get in there and do it... :D

Hahaha, I looked at putting more in but there would be no room for anything on the racks if I put another set in between each shelf, there's only 3" above each shelf hence the cutout of the top shelf. :kewl:

Good job Squiggle!

You're getting pretty good at this stuff. Maybe you should start building them to sell and spread the BBQ love in the outback.

Yeah I've been thinking about that, I'd love to do it full time but the restaurant definitely comes first at the moment. Seems pretty clear though, I will be either cooking BBQ or making them for the next few years or so. :D

Hey Squiggle I was not thinking about more shelves, just more runners so you can move the two shelves around to better cater for different heights of whatever is being cooked. Still keep two shelves just allow yourself some extra wriggle room if you want to cook something a tad higher than normal by moving the top shelf up a notch.

Yeah maybe one more set above the top shelf, can't see the point in one more below, would just have the same gaps as one above cause I'll never be moving the bottom shelf. :kewl:

Hi Squiggle awesome job you have here...looks great. What did you use to cut your fire bricks with?

An angle grinder with a stone disc, just gotta lubricate it with some water (not heaps while you're using electricity, just enough to wet the disc). :kewl:

Thanks for that I will give that a try. I short changed my build on the install of firebricks just because I only used the full size bricks. I could add at least 2 more pieces at the back wall near the FB throat opening. I am interested to see how this thing burns with your intakes positioned as they are. I considered this on my build at first and then went with the alternate in the door just because it was easier and I didn't have to fiddle with trying to cut bricks. If yours burns well I might revise mine to the same intake method and blank off the door intake....

Quite honestly I'm not real happy with the control of the heat with the intake in the door. I'm thinking having 2 intakes positioned like yours might be the better option. Looking forward to seeing some smoke out of this baby.

You can see on the back plenty of room for more brick.
