Looking good.

Started wire wheeling the pit, and painted what I've done so far so it doesn't keep building rust. Using rustoleum high heat. I had a quote to sand blast it, 800 was a bit steep, so I decided I would just do with what I have.

Currently building a 325gal RF.

Post by TheCapps » May 23rd, 2017, 11:20 am

I might have to extend the tongue of the trailer and build a heavy charcoal grill, I really think the weight is going to be an issue. As it sits now I can stand on the tip of the tongue and it won't even teeter, I'm 260lbs. The jack isn't even touching the ground. Might add about 4 ft and build heavy. As for now I will just finish the smoker portion and work on the trailer after. Any input on that?

A big grill is probably your best way to add a decent amount of weight to the tongue. I would offset it to one side and put a wood basket behind it.

Well it's not 100% done but I'm going to cook on it regardless. Seasoning it now. Will be loading it up tonight so we can eat tomorrow.
