You may want to raise it up at least a couple more inches. I didn't leave enough space below mine and the ash would pile up to the grate on long cooks. I modified mine afterwards and then had room to pre-heat the splits too.12ring wrote:I'm about to fab up my fire grate and I'm wondering it these numbers look ok? Thanks. The fire grate spaces are 1/2" wide. I still may lay some expanded metal over it if I need to.Rodcrafter wrote:You're doing a great job!
