Thanks Terry and Weldon.
As long as the storm surge(I called it tidal surge earlier.its storm surge) doesn't get any more than 6', I should be good.
And although this city (nicknamed "tree city" for good reason) has a whole bunch of huuuuuge old oak trees we'll have to dodge, I'm more concerned about the rising tide.
But...as Robert Plant once sang, "what's to be,they say, will be".
Can't do much about it, so we'll just get into the safest room and hold on.
I'll keep you posted.
Sums up Flordia right about now[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Twas the night before Irma
And all through the land
Floridians partying with a beer in our hand
Warnings on TV, the highways are packed
I ran out of tequila, time to open the Jack
Waiting for thunder, and waiting for wind
When i run out of Jack, I guess I'll open this gin
If i get too drunk this evening, and pass out tonight
Im starting tomorrow with a 6 of Bud Light
My family is angry, that im hunkering down
I bought batteries and water, and a huge jug of crown
The beaches are vacant, but my cooler is not
Im digging this weather, so sick of the hot
As we're waiting for Irma, we're partying down
The news suggested we vacate, but this is OUR town
So i hope that you're listening, you b**** of a storm
Go back where you came from, so we can return to our norm. [emoji482][emoji481] [emoji1317]

Hope you guys are all doing OK over there. You guys certainly got the crap end of the stick when it comes to bad weather.
Safetyharbor... good that you are keeping positive and here's hoping you don't end up with a "boathouse" and that the worst is just a slightly damp front deck.
The Australian branch...

Maybe the surge won't be as high as they predicted in your neck of the woods. I saw that they were predicting 10-15 foot in Miami but it was only around 5 ft , hopefully it'll be the same for y'all.
Hey thanks for thinking of me you guys. We were out of power for some time and cell service doesn't work when everything is out of power. But I just got a call from OB1 that's (aka) Frank for those who don't know. Any way he thought you guys were about to write me off. lol
By the grace of God we are just fine.
Making memories!
Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........
Glad to hear all is well Rodcrafter! I was only concerned about you and your families well being, as far as your pits go I ran some calculations and best I can tell it would take 600 mph winds to tip one of them things over.
In all seriousness I'm glad our Florida boys weathered the storm, hang in there!
Grandma always said "if ya can't be handsome ya better at least be handy"
Glad to hear RC!
Things are much better today here.
Still waiting on power.Parts of town came on last night, but not mine.
Oh well, still got enough gas for the generator for another day.
Might have to do a little BBQ today though, cause some of the stuff in the freezer is thawing, LOL.
Anyway, thanks for the well wishes guys.
Have a great day!
Here's today's sunrise for ya.
