Long time no post, summer has been busy for me, been slowly making alterations to the trailer. I haven't done anything new with the cooker.
I had to extend the tongue so I could properly distribute the weight of the cooker on the trailer, so here is what I have so far.
I cut the tongue off and added about 5 1/2' to the trailer length. Welded in 2x3x1/4 tubing on 16" centers, tied it in at the front with a piece of 3/16" plate. I got a couple nice storage boxes we had removed from some ice cream trucks. I figure I will use one for wood, and one for everything else. With the platform in front of the two boxes, I will strap a cooler down, probably like a 150qt. Little by little I'll get there.

That's one long rig. And load tested with the family. So it's all legit.

I road tested it last weekend, it pulled really nice, I have one box loaded with oak, I can definitely feel it behind the truck. All went well on the road test, the brakes work on the trailer which was a nice surprise, I wasn't sure if they would be in working order or not. I installed a new tongue jack, a new brake away kit, all new wiring and lights.
