Trailer Smoker remodel

I just dropped this off at my welder to get remodeled. Whoever built it in the first place had no clue. I'm sealing it all up and essentially starting over. Cutting new doors with counter weights, installing two levels of pull out racks, new fire box, and chimney.

First question is what are people's thoughts on a square vs round fire box?

My personal opinion is that you should go with a square fire box for the reasons that Big T and RC have stated.

Demo is done and she's almost sealed up. Doors and racks should be done by early next week. Then stacks, counter weights and firebox.

Looking for your thoughts. Tank is 50" in Diameter be 157" long. Throw out your thoughts on fire box he chimney size so I can compare it to mine. Wanna make sure I'm moving in the right direction. Thanks.

Are you sure on the length because it doesn't look like it's over about 6' long and 157'' would be about 13' long.

My bad. Length is 74". Circumference is 157. Eyes crossed while reading I guess.

Yeah, so that all adds up. Just seems like a huge firebox. Also, because the pit is so wide I was considering going with two stacks to keep from funneling all the heat to one point at the stack end. What's your thoughts on that idea?

Twin stacks work fine as long as the two stacks together add up to the volume of the recommended size. Most of the guys that build twin stacks put a baffle on them so they can adjust the draft if the need to. I agree that the FB is a monster but that is a huge CC that you have, you can tweak the dimensions as long as the volume stays the same.
