Will do. I went ahead and followed the .dxf file as I was staring the gift horse in the face. If I have to recut it I can.

Starting to get an idea how massive this thing is going to be. I couldn't find half inch plate so I made it out of a 3/4 drop. Those 4 pieces alone felt like 50lbs, but it will never warp [emoji38].

I have the same corner clamps, 3 of them in fact and found they are hard to keep a 90 be angle when you start welding the tubing. The tubes tend to twist some as the flats are not really the flat.

I finally stopped using them altogether, as I was kinda lucky as my work had an scrap aluminum thermoforming tool that was about 20x30 and had perfect clamping 90s for the tubing, which I aquired and took home.

If you would like information about building your own heatermeter or having someone build one for you, feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Top of the Firefox is all welded up. First time with my new stick welder so it ain't that pretty, but it has plenty of penetration. Good Penetration is key!ImageImageImageImage

Coming along nicely. Definitely re-purposed steel there :D Something I do a fair bit of as well is use all the bits I have lying around as opposed to making more little bits from whole sheet. Good job we are not possessed by the OCD demon that requires clean smooth steel... :D

If I can find it for free or even discounted I will. That little welder was only 100 bucks on Amazon. Really tried to justify a new 220 mig but I couldn't. My motto, build things dont buy things, instead buy tools. Then your only a project away from your heart's desire.

It is definitely moving along. I put a shute of charcoal in it over night to burn it out. No telling what was spilt on the reclaimed medal. Also test out my grate and gravity feed. Tomorrow's my bday so I'ma try and stay away from it till Sunday. When we get back too it gonna run 2 welders and get this puppy done.

Ok [emoji106]
I was looking at the fire lit in the FB and I remembered looking at mine with the Bulldog fan running. That rascal was like a gas burner but charcoal. Love it
