Just a safety note, another post on here just yesterday said he rolled his smoker off a set of jack stands and crashed it to the ground. Luckily, nobody got hurt.

Yup,that was me! I’ve found that it was a blessing in disguise though because getting the stand done has sure made the project nicer to work on and move around.

Smokers looking great Canada Q! If I could go it all again i’d Definitely do it like you have, with all new materials.

Have fun!

Well you don't have to stop there... you can build another one down the road. :D

More time back in the shop today. Finished up the firebox and put a handle and locking latch. After that, we got one set of legs on it. Feeling better about it every day, just need to keep focused on commuting time to work. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

A question for the brains trust, is there any foreseeable issues from having the locking latch on the inside?

Yes, the latch is the same 1/4” inch plate used for the rest of the smoker, I don’t see it ever heating up enough to cause problems. If anything happens otherwise I will be sure to let everyone in the thread know [emoji1360]

I’m guessing that’s something to keep the welding spatter down?
