Door top cut position

Post by Tipps » May 16th, 2018, 12:00 pm

I’m not quite there yet, but was thinking on my door layout, where exactly should the top cut be located - 12:00 position, or maybe an inch in either side of that? I would love to keep ain out of cooker, and only thing that would make sense is the top door cut past 12:00 just a little (towards the back), with strap over door.

What’s the common location?

One inch past 12:00 for the top cut keeps the rain out and 1" below 3:00 for the lower cut maximizes your grate depth.

Do it like this indeed!
I misinterpreted the instructions (I think) and my rain is dripping on the grates..
