I'm not where I can check your dims with the pit calculator. But yes the sketch looks good. You will love having an ash pan. The fire above the intake will work well.

Making memories.

Ok done the calc's all looking sweet now.
FB
16" wide
16.5" long ( need to be this to fit to frame)
16" high then adding extra 4" to accommodate air intake to be under fire grate. also putting ash pan in.
Calc's say i am at 118.64%, but when i put top plate in on the slight angle this should come down slightly, so i think all good.
Happy with sizing against the frame i have build. The front will have 2 doors, the main fire door with spring handle and dampers with spring handles also.
The bottom door for the ash pan will swing down and will be locked in by 2 Medium stainless steel spring bolts.
Thinking of using weld on pin hinge stainless steel, are these suitable for fire doors.
Air damper on both sides, depending on air flow the door for the ash pan can also be used as air flow by closing the side dampers. Plenty of options.

Great score today, it turns out my wife knew someone with a Cherry farm and they were cutting out some trees.
Also they had some apple wood, next weekend need to cut it all up into splits.
Just have to let it dry.

It looks like you done a fine job but my OCD is off the chart with those grates. There's NO WAY that I could ever have the ribs going opposite ways on my racks..lol

I was thinking the same but now someone has brought it up i need to fix this , i did not think when i made the top rack i should have the bars running the same way.
To much of a hurry trying to make this and do my paid work at the same time, think i have a quieter week next week so think i will change it to satisfy my OCD.
The top rack is only for wings or smaller cuts of meat.

Today i cut up my Cherry wood, i will have enough to last a few year.
Put some in a wheel barrow so i can wheel it out when the sun is shinning to help it dry out.

If it gets too dry it just ignites too fast. I leave mine outside in one of those covered patio boxes. Of course in your neck of the planet that may be too dry....

Started FB today, will get time tomorrow to get some more done.
Going to make the door and sliding dampers out of Checker plate just to break the look up.
