The FrankTronic Impulse build

Post by Frank_Cox » June 8th, 2012, 8:54 pm

So S1 was supposed to come down to the shop today and we were gonna work on his trailer build but we encountered some issues. due to lack of the parts we needed we went around town to try to find them. Of course, no luck there, so we decided to head back to the shop. on the way there I had a Frank moment and asked him, "have you ever seen one of them little junk traegers?" he responded "No". so I took him to the local traeger dealer to show him one. Turns out they no longer wish to carry the traeger line and they had 1 left. I had an moment of impulse and started workin some magic on the salesman. I got him down to $300.00 for it. I told him I was just gonna "cut it up" so I needed it to be Cheap!
Well, it worked! so I took the little bugger home!
Once I got it to the shop we started to dismantle it. here is what ensued.....

Trying to save a couple bucks on tubing so we are using short chunks of 1_1/2 tubing as spacers for the outer skin. Using full sticks for the bottom and cross member in the back. This is the bottom side up for putting on the bottom skin and building the legs.

That's cool Framk! :grillin:

What kind of cabinet temp were you running?
... or is the door done yet?

Why did you separate the blower from the auger?

:-B

I don't have the doors done yet. I plan to do that tomorrow if I have time. I had to separate the auger and the fan because the auger was not long enough to reach all the way to the middle of the cook chamber plus, you gotta admit, the sliding board idea is perty kool! I seen that on the Fast Eddie smokers. I am going to love this thing, I can tell already!
