Photos of Paul Shirley's Smokers?

Post by 104timberwolf » August 31st, 2012, 11:31 am

Hi everyone! Frank was kind enough to refer me to Paul Shirley in Tuscaloosa for a reverse flow smoker. During my conversation with Frank, he mentioned that there were some photos of his smokers posted. Can anyone steer me to them?

Thanks!

The biggest problems with TQ's (Paul's) smoker trailers are that they are built like tanks and you forget they are back there when towing. I was actually looking forward to having the smoke drift out of the weld seams like you see in so many pictures for that authentic smoker in use effect. I'll be danged if mine just smokes from the stacks ... kinda boring. I decided I better just get used to it since the beast will probably be around a lot longer than I will. My daughter has officially put dibs on ole Pops. :-bd

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Lots of TQ builds here. They are some fine looking cookers!

Solo- I bet Ol Pops will look good behind that lifted Jeep! :kewl:

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Pulling would be a cool site ... stopping could be downright terrifying :D

Here's a pic of my daughter's "PJ", I'm guilty of re-living my teenage years through my kid :D
It's not a monster but it does have a decent growl :kewl:
I let her drive it down to florida with her cousin, HOW DID I FORGET it only gets 11 miles to the gallon.
They had a blast so money well spent. This was her "hey we made it" pic with the townhouse in the background

Solo - I'f you're looking for that "authentic smoker" look, some 12 ga. slugs ought to do the trick! I don't think bird shot will get through one of TQ's builds, but slug's ought to work.

If you're feeling squimish about turning the Remington on ol' Pops, just hang a Roll Tide sign on the back and drive it around. The problem should solve itself eventually.

=)) =)) =)) =)) :homer:

Sometimes I just crack myself up!
