Brew I wish you would buy one so I could borrow it... I think they look great - if they work...

Thanks Mac - I just checked out the cold smoker of which you speak - cool looking product and they offer PEACH dust!
Wow - might have to try that one... at least the variety pack ...
Brew that one is worth looking at - I just copied Mac's name mention from his post and pasted to search and found it first try... then you have to go to the USA page to order it but there's a nice video there to see it in action.
I think the key to this design is the fuel - small enough grind to light - dry enough to smolder - wet enough to stay under control.... anybody else on here that's fooled with this design much? Love to hear from you!

I think I'd like to make one. But it will be one that has a pump, I like more smoke than the maze type products put out. At least for the size chamber I will be using would require more.
Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........
I was watching videos of the one smoke daddy.com offers. Looks nice but pricey. Thinking about getting my brother one as an Xmas gift for his traeger. He's mentioned doing cheeses in the past
I`m going to have a go at making one of these mazes, I have a S/steel grate left over from a job years ago and I think it might just work, well I hope it does anyhow!!....
Rod I was thinking of cutting some sides off and adding a fence down the middle with it, it`s about 2" wide and 1.5" deep and 1m long, the holes are .25" dia do you think the saw dust will fall through?
That's a perty big hole size ... grab yourself any old sawdust and fill it and see...

Personally I like the New Zealand made external Ventura smokers made by Alec Upfold. I have the know how, experience and equipment to make one but NO spare time so I bought the Ventura 500. Adjustable air intake and suitable for small smokers to super large smoke HOUSES.
I have used it for several years and it's indestructible, all stainless as well.
A friend of mine copied the AMAZEN SMOKER SOMEWHAT. it works a treat but is fussy about chips, dust or pellets used, exactly like the original, they are like women!!
