Millermatic 175 questions

Post by HookedOnQ » February 10th, 2014, 11:58 am

Been in the market for a new welder and found a millermatic 175 on craigslist for $660. Is this a good price and is the MM175 a good welder? I will be welding mostly 1/4in and thinner and maybe some thicker stuff every now and than

A new Miller 180 goes for about $800 new. For a few dollars more you can move up to the 211 which is a better machine and designed to weld thicker metal.

The 211 is one awesome machine in the compact class.

If you are watching for the used ones. Look for a Hobart 187. In my opinion, you wont find a smoother running machine. But they are few and far between.

I have a 211 and love it but, if I had a 187 here I would use it more.
