Gotta question

Post by forty_creek » April 15th, 2015, 10:18 pm

I'm curious if any of you have a figure or formula or whatever ya wanta call it as to how many square inches is needed per butt, rack of ribs, whole chickens or whole brisket on a CG?
I guess what I'm asking is if any you have guide as to how much you can cook per sq in's of the main Q-foods
Several cookers I've seen advertised to be able to hold "x" number of steaks or chickens or butts...etc

Just curious

I keep meaning to measure a rack of ribs, butt and a whole brisket. I guess I can take my tape measure to the grocery store....no weird looks I'm sure! Hehee

Gizmo used to have all the measurements maybe he will chime in, I do know that my racks are 24x32 and each fit 6 racks of baby backs just right, pretty sure 6 butts will fit also, I think an average size is about 10x10.

I like big buts a and cannot lie...sorry that song came out my senior year right around the time of our senior trip.

Appreciate the measurements... I'm working hard this weekend thru next Friday...guiding customers turkey hunting. Season opens at daylight! Gobble gobble!!!

When you're done, stop by over here. Wild turkeys travel in groups of 30+...not very cuddly looking too! You can sit out on the deck and have a beverage and wait for them to gobble by. Deer too.

In MY opinion, the area has changed. You know, you can't get any feathers in a BMW! Got the idea?

That's kinda what I figured. No pressure on the turkeys from Redneck/Country Boys like me. Well the turkeys here are winning the first two days. Seeing plenty of birds but they aren't working at all. Got 5 more days. It will turn around. We had s new group come in this evening. We were fishing on the dock. Had a gobbler a gobblin across the cove. Saw him strutting right before dark. Later
