HELP! Looking for plans for a Vertical Offset smoker

Post by Rob_Sic » February 20th, 2017, 11:16 am

Hi Folks,

I am in the market for a new smoker. I currently have a small dyno flow vertical smoker. It was great for learning but not I need something that can allow me to make a lot of meat at once. I sell beef jerky at farmers markets and festivals so I need a lot of surface space. I thought I would have something built that looks like my old smoker on steroids!

I ordered something back in October. When it arrived it was clear that it had fallen off the dock and was destroyed. So I decided to have a local welder build me something so the shipping would not cost as much and it might be safer getting it to my door. I called a few welders and they all said they can do this but need plans. That's what brought me here. I can not find plans or blueprints for vertical smokers anywhere on line. When I saw this message board, I thought it was probably my last chance.

So I am asking all of you out there, Do you know anywhere that I can get a copy of plans to build a good size vertical smoker?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for reading my thread. I hope to hear from a lot of you folks.

Caio,
Rob

Let me just say this right off the bat. I would recommend the double pan gravity feed or more commonly know as a GF around here. I have a similar setup and I put 28# of jerky in it this past Saturday and still had room to spare. 28 square feet of cooking racks in my little vertical GF. I run it with a CyberQ and sit in my recliner and wait watching netflix or making some other smoked products in another portion of the rig.

Did you want to stay with an offset design like craig at bell fab made for you or go to the GF design from the prints available. You could always replicate from Craig's design (which looked really nice with alot of shelf space) and draw up your own plans. Its a shame what happen to that smoker and the red tape your going thru. Good luck.
